19. BARBARA VERONICA "FERONA" YODER was born 1702 in BERN CANTON,SWI, and died 1737 in BERKS CO,PA. She was the daughter of 38. HANS YODER and 39. ANNA EICHER.
- Moved from Lancaster to Big Valley c 1791-4 (soon after his son Bishop John moved to Milroy) and settled at Big Spring at Coffee Run. On April 19, 1794 John purchased 350 acres in Brown Twp on Coffee Run. The house was built sometime between 1780-1794.
- On April 19, 1794, a John Yoder from Caernarvon Twsp, Lancaster Co., bought 350 acres from Henry Drinker of Philda. The tract was located in the center of the valley along Coffee Run in Brown Township (then Armagh). For awhile , his sons Jacob, Christian and Joseph (Yost), as well as his son-in-law, Christian Yoder, lived nearby. In 1801, John sold 186 acres to Joseph Yoder and another 186 acres to Jacob Yoder.- each for "five shillings". His sons "Yotter Hannes," "Red Yost," and Christian Yoder eventually moved to Half Moon Valley, Centre Counties and points west. (S. Duane Kauffman book, p. 62
- John sold 186 acres to his son Jacob who lived there until his death in 1836. They built a house and barn at the big spring on the hill for Jacob, then they lived at the Big Spring after Jacob died, his son Solomon lived there.
- The house sets over a large spring that Penn State researchers had determined to originate in the mountains several miles away. (YoRk p. 23)
